Everything you need...at your fingertips. The Pros-Aide Go Kit.
Each kit includes:
Pros-Aide adhesive products DO NOT contain the allergen, “rubber-based” latex.
Pros-Aide "The Original" is water-based adhesive for the skin. It adheres for long periods without irritation. Pros-Aide® is the leading adhesive used for medical prosthetic applications. Pros-Aide® is the standard in the industry for adhering appliances and other make-up components to skin. It is safe to use on all skin including sensitive areas. It gives a strong bond and has high water resistance. It is non-toxic and completely safe.
Pros-Aide® II was developed to help eliminate the difficulty of removing Pros-Aide®“The Original” from the skin. Pros-Aide® II is very similar to “The Original” in all characteristics except that many cleansers and adhesive solvents will break it down more easily. Pros-Aide® II is useful on very sensitive skin or thin areas of appliances and prosthetics. It is also great for short term applications.
Pros-Aide® No Tack has the great properties of “The Original” Pros-Aide® but with less residual tackiness. Pros-Aide® No-Tack is used just like Pros-Aide® for producing PAX paint™ but has significantly reduced stickiness or tack after drying. Just like “The Original”, Pros-Aide® No-Tack has great adhesion, water-resistance and flexibility.
Aqua-Cream™ is a unique lotion that should be applied before or after using Pros-Aide© or other make-up. Because Aqua-Cream™ is specially formulated with unique protective film-forming emollients, it is great for your hands and the skin. Aqua-Cream™ Lotion should be applied generously, spread evenly but not rubbed in. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
Pros-Aide® Cream Adhesive excellent for filling in seams or gaps in appliances and also great for repairs. Pros-Aide® Cream Adhesive does not contain any artificial fillers to make it thick yet has the properties of Pros-Aide® at heavy viscosity. Pros-Aide® Cream adhesive can be easily colored to make thick PAX Paint ™ for use as a filler. Pros-Aide® Cream can also be used to create scars or textures in molds or directly on the skin.
Pros-Aide® Remover is a special remover/cleaner for Pros-Aide® and PAX paint. It is formulated from ingredients that allow for safe removal of Pros-Aide®, PAX Paint and other make-up from the skin.
Application:
Pros-Aide is a contact adhesive: When an adhesive is a contact this means it adheres to itself, taking along whatever it is attached to. To use a contact adhesive you simply apply even coats of the adhesive to each material you wish to adhere, allow it to dry, and stick them together.
Paint a thin coat of the adhesive over the back (inside) area of the prosthetic and let dry -- it dries clear. Be careful not to let it fold over onto itself, because pros-aide is VERY sticky and will stick to itself. Once you have painted it on the back of the prosthetic, also paint a thin coat over the area where the appliance is to be placed and let it start to dry. Once both are mostly dry, firmly press together.
Removal:
Using Pros-Aide Remover, find a spot where the appliance has started to lift a bit. Work the remover in under the appliance with a brush or swab. Continue applying remover to this area and easing the appliance off. Do not pull too hard or rip off the appliance. Let Pros-Aide Remover do its job; your appliance and performer will be happier for it. Skin can then be cleaned with a good cleanser. Follow with a light moisturizer to calm skin.
This adhesive has been determined to be safe for skin and nasal mucosa.
Pros-Aide and latex products being shipped during cold weather months have the potential to freeze and then will turn solid. To help avoid this, we suggest shipment via 2nd day or next day service from approximately November through April.
